Getting to know me.

I lead a very active lifestyle and participate in a wide variety of sports. My list of activities is long, but a few items include racing motorcycles, snowboarding, rock climbing, cycling, and kayacking. With so many interests and a desire to be good at all of them, I have had to design my own workout routines. Many components of my workout allow me to live a more comfortable life and be happier in general.

Some of the activities I particpate in are dangerous and can occasionally lead to injury. My list of injuries includes broken bones, damaged joints, internal injuries, and back problems. It is this history that allows me to connect with many people, my understanding of an injury or a chronic pain is invaluable. My first experience of a broken back led me through a long a tedious recovery. Every injury I have had since has been more of the same, being told that I would never get to play sports again or maybe even walk is a difficult concept to accept. The pain that I felt sitting around was unbearable, and working out wasn’t an option. Specialized trainers who had been in similar situations showed me how to workout safe and effectively. It wasn’t long before I started realizing that the pain was actually going away the more fit I became. Some people guard this information like a national secret, I choose to share it.

My need to help people has allowed me to create a career from fitness. I want to help people lose that weight, get stronger, or just be in better shape. Being more fit can help you live a happier, longer life. Not every chronic condition can be overcome, but giving a body the tools to succeed is the start. My choice to find ways to work through situations has been the key to getting me back to living life. There are very few things in life we can’t do if we want to, I want to show people that you can do something about it.
